Frequently Asked Questions
-
What if finances prevent joining the team?
-
We do offer scholarships to cover the cost of team and state registration fees. We just ask that you provide a gun, ammo (will need a minimum of 18 boxes for Spring and 12 boxes for Fall), shell pouch, and eye and ear protection.

How do shooting nights work?
-
Spring and Fall season shoot dates are Wednesday nights starting at 4pm with the last squad starting around 6:30pm. Each squad shoots their two rounds of 25 back-to-back (usually takes about 30 minutes total). Scores are then submitted to the league for team ranking and results. There is no traveling to other ranges or shooting simultaneously with other teams on these nights.

What if my child hasn’t completed firearm safety classes?
-
There is an online SAFE Class and Range Day that can be completed to cover the shooter for the season.

-
What if my child can’t make a shooting night?
-
The rounds must be shot and scored in the week scheduled. Since the team has grown so large, we unfortunately cannot offer to make up shooting nights for individuals.

What if it’s raining on shoot nights?
-
Only lightning and severe weather will shut us down. We still shoot in the rain, so dress accordingly and be prepared!

-
My child doesn’t go to JWP, can they still join the team?
-
Yes, we currently have shooters from many different school districts in the area! As long as their school district doesn’t already offer a trap team, they can join.
